How can i get into the metal sculptural type of art?

i was wondering what it would take to get into the type of art displayed on this page. http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=5698641

It looks to me like it is made from copper. Things of this size range and complexity you would generally make from copper not from steel, as copper is much more malleable. And the best way to connect pieces of copper would be silver soldering and riveting. Take a jewelry class for metal working and they will teach you all about this. If you can find a metalsmithing class for jewelry even better.

If you wanted to make it not of the size of a bottle holder but life size, you would learn MIG-welding.

Generally I'd say, you will spend way more than $100 worth of time if you try to do this yourself as a project. If you just want the piece buy it. If you want to design your own pieces, then take a class.
