What do I need in order to carve a sculpture?
ok so im an artist and i really want to carve sculptures , what supplies do i need in order to carve one? first of all what substance do i carve a sculpture with? haha
First you decide what you want to carve a sculpture in. then you decide on tools. Different materials require very different tools.
What material you want to carve depends entirely on you and what you plan to carve.
Plaster, wood, foam, stone (lots of different choices there), wax, bones are some options for materials. Butter and ice, salt blocks are some others.
So the very first thing you need is a good idea what you want to carve and what you want to make it out of.
