What to do when mom parakeet attacks baby?

The first of our babies came out of the nesting box this morning and the mom started attacking it. I put it in a separate cage, but I am concerned as to whether it will know how to eat on its own. Should I put the dad in the cage with it? Please advise..

The baby should not be on its own. The Dads are the main feeders from 2 weeks of age and when babies leave the nestbox the Dads teach them to eat.
The mum is attacking the baby becuase she is deciding to lay another clutch of eggs and doesnt want the baby asking to be fed anymore.
If the Mum has had two clutches already she must be stopped from laying a third clutch.
If there are any other babies of feldging age they can all be removed to a container on the floor of the cage........using budgie seed as bedding so they learn to eat. Dad will care for them that way.
If the mum has already had at least two clutches, she must be stopped, removed to another cage ( no nestbox ) and away from being heard by the dad so he can focus on and feed the other babies. She may lay an egg off the perch or two but she will then stop.
