Natural disasters coimng fast and furious??
Is it just me, of has there been many more natural disasters recently than ever before?? I always hear or read about natural disasters on the news these days--- cyclones in Myanmar, earthquakes in China, heat waves and cold snaps out of season, flooding and hurricanes... it seems like the past few years the natural disasters have been happening more and more frequently, and with increasing ferocity....
What are your theories as to why natural disasters have been so prevalent and happening with such force?
AND do you agree with countries denying help and aid, and what do you think about countries turning offers of help and aid into political issues??
Illinois had a very teeny natural disaster from an moderate earthquake that had its epicenter 230 miles away from the New Madrid fault...in an area of east Central Illinois called the Wabash Valley Seismic zone. This happened over a month ago.
But if a earthquake of magnitude 8.5 strikes the New Madrid fault and shakes the whole Midwest into destruction this year (I hope this does not happen), this would be the apex of these recent natural disasters we are facing this year.......
As for that thing in Burma.....
The military junta's blocking of foreign aid, including foreign aid from the United States, will only lead to about 20,000 more deaths in 2 weeks.
The big quake in China shows what could happen if the New Madrid fault causes such a big quake. That means the whole Midwest, especially the southern Midwest and along the New Madrid fault line, needs to learn earthquake preparedness right now before the next big quake happens......
As for theory of natural disasters coming so fast.....
Those who believe global warming is causing them are about 62 percent right. But earthquakes are not caused by global warming.....but I am afraid that more heat can mean earthquake-related volcanic eruptions like what happened in Chile can be commonplace. Heat is needed for volcanic eruptions to worsen.
