I have become interested in art glass.

Sculpture in glass is relatively recent. But Galle did small scale commercial sculptures successfully. Lino Tagliapietra is one of the acknowledged modern masters. Much modern glass sculpture has been cast glass in abstract. Look at the collection of Corning Museum of Glass (www.cmog.org)
Art glass including Chihuly's has been based on vessels rather than solid sculpture.
