Why do I hate the public so much some times?

I work at a call center and people are driving me off the wall today.
What can I do for some relief?

Even if you are a "people person", society has become so nuts, with the horrible economy over the past 8-10 years, the lack of education and TV "news" that revs them up, they have no clue what common courtesy is any more.

Maybe try working with older people, like in a nursing home. They're usually mellower and not as apt to be "jacked-in" to the hyper world of gadgets, political-junky news and insane social networking, like younger people.

When you're at your job, try "Stepping out of" the situation mentally and look down at the scene. It might help you see these people as tiny, stressed-out ants, rather than monsters. It's technique taken from Buddhism called "mindfulness". Works for me...to a point! Sometimes, angry people should just be avoided.

Don't feel bad. I used to work w/people for yrs. Now, I hate having to leave the house. Invariably, some idiot will almost smash into my car because they're spaced out on their stupid cell phone. Stuff like that.
