How do I patch a hole in a wood paneling wall?
I live in a manufactured home, and the master bedroom is the only room with wood paneling walls still.
I tried to throw my husband a water bottle, and hit the wall right beside the doorway.
Short of replacing the paneling, what can i do to patch the hole?
The area is not convenient to hang up a picture.
The hole is the size of the cap of a water bottle, and there is slight splintering around the hole.
Help please!
I would take the other two answers just a little further. I would get a small can of Great Stuff and try to fill the hole with that, to give it a good solid back. Take a utility knife and clean up the splinters on the edges. When the Great Stuff was done drying take a razor blade and cut it off level with the wall then try the veneer over that. Get some that is the same or as close as possible and try to find a spot that matches best to that area you are working on and cut it out so that it is about an inch bigger than the hole. Take a plastic putty knife and work it onto the wall from one edge of the patch so that air doesnt get trapped and leave bubbles. Good Luck.
