Vase Sculpture

Looking for abandoned symbols/relics of war turned into art or a peaceful thing.?

My boyfriend is a sculpture in grad school, and is trying to find some images. He is intrested in depictions of military symbols such as grenades, guns, warheads/missiles, tanks etc. He is taking a grenade looking cast piece and turning it into a flower vase. I know I have seen images of abandoned tanks/military equipment that has been turned into a garden area or has been painted and made something else. Maybe war relics from poor countries that cannot afford to move the items so they beautify it instead. Can anyone think of any images that would be remotely similar in this manner? I already posted this question in another category, I just did not know where to ask it at. Thank you
